Transom StyleThe transom style, sometimes referred to as a "high-speed" style, is specifically for mounting externally on the back of a boat. It sits in a bracket which allows the depth and angle to be adjusted to achieve depth reading while the boats in up on-plane, going at high speeds.
This style transducer is commonly used on wood and aluminum hull boats, although the latter can also use an AlumaDucer. For fiberglass hulls, a Puck Style is a more common choice.
Vexilar offers the Transom Style in four beam angles; 19°, 12°, 9°, and a switchable dual beam model with 9 and 19 cone angles.

More Information
Area of CoverageAnglers often wonder how they sometimes catch fish that they don't see on their sonar. A flasher, or any type of sonar covers an area dependent upon the cone angle of the accompanying transducer. If utilizing a transducer with a 12-degree cone angle, you'll see an area approximately 1/5 of the depth your fishing. For instance, a 12-degree transducer in 30 feet of water will display an area that's about 6 feet wide. With a 19-degree transducer you'll see an area about 1/3 of your current depth, which in 30 feet of water would be an approximate 10 foot diameter of visible water.
All Transom Styles include the transducer, mounting bracket and complete installation instructions.
